Currently at work struggling with a computer for one of our users. It came with Windows 10 Home installed, but it is for a domain user, thus Windows Home is crap and worthless. The struggle is this: I'm trying to install Windows 7 Pro on it in order to upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro. The problem is that the hardware doesn't support Windows 7, so I can't seem to be able to install it. I could try Windows 8, of course, but I was wondering if anyone knows if this can be done? If so, hit me up in the comment section!

The other day I had some people at the door delivering a gaming computer that I promised to have a look at. I haven't had the time yet, so the only info I have about it right now is this: Bought/given used Does not boot (loops) Motherboard replaced shortly before new owner got it I'll add some photos and more info when I get a chance to look at it, and hopefully I'll get it too boot up aswell. Nothing more boring than a looping gaming rig.

What I've learned so far. DDR3 and DDR3L sticks look the same to the naked eye. They both fit in the same slot. You can't just glance at it and tell the difference. The main differences I've learned so far is that DDR3 works with 1.5 Volts. The slots on your motherboard will have 1.5 V printed next to them, or on them. That means DDR3. DDR3L works with 1.35 Volts, and some say they also work with 1.5 V, yet there seems to be a 50/50 difference in opinion about that. I might be that 1% to tip it over to NOPE. DDR3L uses a lower voltage, which in some cases might make the memory more efficient. Some say that if you put a DDR3L stick in a DDR3 slot, you might burn the stick out due to the voltage being too high. Others say DDR3L is backwards compatible and can work with both 1.5 and 1.35 Volts. In my experience, probably not. Except he didn't. I bought a couple of sticks of Crucial 4 GB DDR3L RAM, because I thought I could definitely stick those in the slots of the motherboard. I waited for several days, and they finally arrived (with my new Kingston 32 GB SD card, because the old one died on Saturday... RIP all my stuff that was on there....) All jolly like and happy I ran into the room to install the new RAM and get a WHOPPING 8 GB on that bastard to take som strain off the old thing. I put the stick in place. I decided to boot it once before putting the cover back on and placing it in a stationary position, just to be sure. And... anti-climax! Got the mean old BIOS beeps, no picture. Just the endless, annoying beeps once again. I started sweating. I started swearing, very quietly at first. Took a deep breath and started testing each stick in each slot, one at a time. No good. I slowly started to realize that I had once again bought stuff before reading up on it enough. WHY THE FUCK ARE...

A ramble about my experience with the hated error message. I tried googling for the solution, but I couldn't find anything. That being said, I didn't expect to find anything, as we have had a laptop in our office for a couple of months without being able to fix it. Long story short, when boot manager goes missing, you're fucked, and all your data are belongs to nobody unless you have an external HDD reader to retrieve your files. Reinstall Windows. Or whatever you want, for that matter. I don't know what else to tell you. If anyone DO know a way to solve this without a clean install, let me know!

If you've read anything on here, you'll know I've been working on a project I called "The Frankintel Monster". Today it LIVED!! I am going to write a bit about what I did and how I did it when I have the time. This is just a reminder to myself! Backstory: As I work in IT, or rather am undergoing educational work in IT, I get my hands on a lot of outdated crap that is ready to be binned. So, as a personal project, I took on one of the old machines that were supposed to go in the trash, and made it my love child. I named it The Frankintel Monster, and I will post pictures that explain why. Anyway, I brought this thing home with me, after scavenging other tossed machines for functional parts. When I got home, I spent an entire weekend working on it, firstly trying to make everything power up. Not boot. Yet. I was working with my laptop at the same time, and at some point, the laptop woke back up and started working, so I've been gaming on it since then ...

So, I just have to ask. Did anyone else notice the striking resemblance between Innocent Jim in Dalaran, and Jim from Mogworld? Like, seriously! There's gotta be some sort of connection there! I don't know who came first, book Jim or WoW Jim, but they're both Jim, and Mogworld is dramatically based off of WoW. So, help me out! I need to know! It's eating away at my soul! In January 2010 I was living for free at home with my parents, and I had a job that paid quite well, especially since the only bill I ever had to pay was for my phone. So, about a year earlier I had bought a shit laptop, because when a girl comes into a tech store and asks for a computer, they give you a "facebook machine". Here at work I have a laptop with 16 GB RAM installed, i7 dual core, four logical processors, etc etc. Problem was, it was running at insanely high temps! A few seconds after boot, idle use, one of the cores would reach 99 degrees celcius. And for those of you that don't know the metric system (which is the only system I'll be using in this blog, so learn it) that is one degree below the boiling temp of water. So, yeah. Something had to be done, or that thing would've died pretty soon. After telling my coworkers about my recent endeavors trying to rescue my own laptop, they told me to order some thermal compound and see if I could fix it. If it broke, we'd get me a new one. It's a rather old device, so sooner or later we're gonna have to order me a new one, but for the meantime it was a chance to get more experience, and do something I love, AND maybe add some months to this laptop's life. As the title clearly states, I've run into a sudden halt in interest when it comes to vaping and vaping products. This, I think, is caused by several things. I used vaping to get off tobacco, but after I started working, and especially during xmas, I failed and went back, and never made it back to quitting. It just seems silly to spend so much money on both things when I'm still on tobacco. The TPD. The joys of vaping were sucked out of existence with the TPD. Checked in with my postal service, and my packages have arrived in Amsterdam. Hopefully they won't be staying there for too long. Can't wait to finally have them! Got a message today that I will be receiving a package! It's not the stuff I ordered from China, tho. It's four LG HB4's, a container for 18650's, and three coils for the BBBeast. However, I will also be picking up the Vapesmith Castle RDA, the SMPL mod, AND some juice from a local provider. Today is gonna be good! --- Also, yesterday I finally managed to wich the TFV4 dual RBA correctly! It wicks good, lots of vapor, and about as much taste as you would expect from a tank like that. A little bit more flavor now, with the homemade coils. I'm very pleased! At the same time, I think I fucked up the RBA for the mini. There was a short somewhere, and now it won't read any coils. So, as you know, I have no self-control, and thus there's a new RDA and mod on it's way to my post office as we speak... Ordering with Gearbest has been fruitful before, and I've made sure everything is original, not cloned. I've longed for a velocity styled deck for a while, and now I'm finally getting one!! I've also ordered a DIY-set for building coils, with an ohm reader and some tools. Can't wait to try it, and make proper coils with proper diameter and shit. I still haven't gotten around to picking up the RDA I was getting for free, but I still don't have a mod to put it on, so that's just gonna have to wait. I know I can switch stuff around, but for the time being I don't trust the HG2's to deal with the dramarama of a low ohm RDA. OH MY GAWD, this thing is AMAZING!! Seriously?! This is a vape PEN? The tank: ...is a MONSTER! Like, HUGE, and it chucks clouds like a volcano in a lake! How is this even possible?? All of my orders from fasttech have been marked as shipped from the storage. Hopefully I'll have them sometime during the next two weeks. So excited about the RDA!!! The hybrid mod scares me a little, though, so I'm going to do a lot more reading about battery safety and such before I even unbox it. The battery I am intending to use is a 30 A battery, tested by Mooch himself. And I haven't really seen any 18650 batteries with a higher A than 30, so I guess I just have to focus on the battery itself. Make sure there are no scratches, dents or anything else that might endanger me. I'll also check the battery for any heat production after the very first vape. And then probably keep doing that very regularly. You can never quite trust batteries no matter how careful you are, but you CAN reduce the risk of having your face blown off when using a tube mech. I've been on a mission for months now, trying to convince my smoker girlfriend to stop and start vaping instead. I haven't really gotten anywhere, even though I bought her a Kanger pen well over a year ago. She didn't really like it, and I think I've found the problem now- finally. Anyway, I told her I wanted her to try the Ego Aio, because it's userfriendly and pretty, and it's MTL which suits a smoker better than DL. So I ordered one this week, black, and three 1.5ohm MTL coils. It arrived two days later, yesterday, and I was excited to give it a try.
