Kindiz The Noob Techs

In January 2010 I was living for free at home with my parents, and I had a job that paid quite well, especially since the only bill I ever had to pay was for my phone. So, about a year earlier I had bought a shit laptop, because when a girl comes into a tech store and asks for a computer, they give you a "facebook machine". Completely and utterly useless in every way. Naturally, I went back, with a brand new attitude. My half-uncle works where I've always bought my stash, so I had told him in advance I needed a GAMING laptop that could run stuff more powerful than The Sims 2-3 (back then). Of course, he wasn't at work when I showed up, but he had told me they had a fancy one coming in (it had just arrived when I went to get it). Here at work I have a laptop with 16 GB RAM installed, i7 dual core, four logical processors, etc etc. Problem was, it was running at insanely high temps! A few seconds after boot, idle use, one of the cores would reach 99 degrees celcius. And for those of you that don't know the metric system (which is the only system I'll be using in this blog, so learn it) that is one degree below the boiling temp of water. So, yeah. Something had to be done, or that thing would've died pretty soon. After telling my coworkers about my recent endeavors trying to rescue my own laptop, they told me to order some thermal compound and see if I could fix it. If it broke, we'd get me a new one. It's a rather old device, so sooner or later we're gonna have to order me a new one, but for the meantime it was a chance to get more experience, and do something I love, AND maybe add some months to this laptop's life. This blog has recently been converted from a vaping blog to a tech blog, because fuck the TPD. This is a short intro before I dive into the stuff I'm working on right now. As the title clearly states, I've run into a sudden halt in interest when it comes to vaping and vaping products. This, I think, is caused by several things. I used vaping to get off tobacco, but after I started working, and especially during xmas, I failed and went back, and never made it back to quitting. It just seems silly to spend so much money on both things when I'm still on tobacco. The TPD. The joys of vaping were sucked out of existence with the TPD. Small, standardized tanks, small, powerless mods, 10ml bottles of standardized ejuice of standardized strength and taste. Just the whole deal with treating vaping (and evey product associated) like deadly tobacco.
